ISSUES
Many of you know the tribulations of getting on the ballot as a political party in Alabama but what happens when you take the "partisan" out of the picture?
To run for Mayor: $300 and be a registered voter at least age 25.
To run for City Council: $50, a resident of district for 90 days, a registered voter, and at least age 21.
To run for School Board: $100, a resident of district for 90 days, a registered voter, and at least age 18.
Healthcare
The Libertarian Party advocates reducing and removing government mandates, taxes, and red tape that drive up the cost of health care. These practices also reduce quality and put Americans’ lives at risk. Learn more about the Libertarian view of mandated healthcare at http://www.LP.org/issues/healthcare

Education
Libertarians believe that education is best provided by the free market, achieving greater quality, accountability and efficiency with more diversity of choice. Recognizing that the education of children is a parental responsibility, we would restore authority to parents to determine the education of their children, without interference from government.

TAX REFORM

Fiscal Balance
Libertarians believe governments should not incur debt, which burdens future generations without their consent. We believe the federal, state, and local governments simply can not afford to continue borrowing at our current rates. This run away spending has led to a federal debt of over $30 trillion and climbing. The State of Alabama is $5 billion in debt.
